Biographical Data

     

 

     Attorney Anthony T. Visconti graduated Boston University School of Law in 1978, and has been practicing law for over 27 years in Massachusetts. He began his career as a sole practitioner in downtown Boston in January, 1979.

      In 1987 he joined forces with attorney Andrew Osborne in forming the law firm of Osborne & Visconti. The formation of the partnership coincided with the move of both attorneys from Boston to the Westwood/Dedham area. The firm offered a wide variety of legal services to individuals and small-to-medium sized businesses.

    In 2005, the attorneys dissolved the partnership, but remain affiliated.  In early 2006, he affiliated with Attorney John DeVito, a well-known and highly regarded Dedham attorney. They currently practice law under the name of DeVito & Visconti, a Professional Association.

    In June, 2007, Attorney Joan Canavan joined the firm, and has been a very welcomed and valuable addition.

     Since forming the partnership in 1987, Attorney Visconti has concentrated in those areas of law providing services to remedy personal legal problems. During this period he has handled hundreds of cases in the areas of  Family Law, Personal Injury, Probate Law, and Personal Bankruptcy, serving as both an advocate and an advisor. His current areas of concentration are Family Law, Probate/Elder Law, and Bankruptcy. 

     In addition to serving as counsel to guardians appointed by the Probate Court, he both serves as a legal guardian himself, and aids local Probate Courts in his capacity as a guardian ad litem, doing factual and legal investigations for the Court in guardianship and estate cases.

     Attorney Visconti is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Bar Association of Norfolk County, and the Boston Bar Association. In addition, he is the author of Early Stage Alzheimer's & Dementia: The Legal Side.

     In March, 2000, Governor Paul Cellucci honored Attorney Visconti by appointing him as Justice of the Peace. (For information on weddings, go to www.tvisconti.com). He belongs to, or recently has belonged to, the following organizations: Mensa, the Masons: Union Lodge AF & AM , Massachusetts Youth Soccer Kid Safe Committee, the Aleppo Temple Shriners, Westwood Sheehan School Council, the Board of Directors of Boston Area Youth Soccer League (BAYS), and Westwood Youth Soccer. In his spare time he coaches youth soccer and is a licensed soccer referee.
