Personal injury law Personal injury law involves the bringing of claims on behalf of injured people whom may have a claim against a third party for the injuries received. It includes car accidents, animal attacks, workers compensation law, slip & fall cases, products liability, professional abuse cases, and wrongful death cases. We do not handle medical malpractice of product liability cases, although we would be happy to refer clients to a qualified attorney who does. We are happy to assist people who have suffered injury due to car collisions, animal attacks, general negligence cases, and those who have been injured at work or through their employment. We abhor the 'factory approach' of some law firms, and endeavor to provide our clients with personalized service. However, as the nature of our practice has changed, we have made a business decision not to litigate these cases. Those cases that we do not immediately refer out we will endeavor to prepare and settle. However, if we are unable to settle your case, we will not file suit, but instead refer the matter out to an attorney who specializes in trying these cases. We do not accept every case that comes through the door. We first of all want to make sure that the case has legal merit. We do not handle cases for their "nuisance value". Sometimes we cannot determine the merit until after we have investigated further. We also will only work with clients whom we find to be cooperative and trustworthy. Trust is a 2-way street, and is necessary for the attorney and the client to work together. Most negligence cases are done on a contingency basis of one-third of the amount recovered. An exception to this is Workers Compensation cases which are handled on a lower contingency basis per the Statute. We no longer handle Workers Comp. cases, and have not done so in quite some time, but we would be happy to refer you to a lawyer who specializes in that area. In all cases the client is liable for all costs, and is expected to lay out or 'front' the costs incurred during the claim. just as I am laying out my time.
